Marshall Shelley

Marshall Shelley is a vice-president of Christianity Today International and editor in chief of the Leadership Media Group, which serves church leaders through media such as Leadership Journal, BuildingChurchLeaders.com, PreachingToday.com, FaithVisuals.com, GiftedforLeadership.com, and OutOfUr.com.

Along with Harold Myra, he coauthored The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham (Zondervan, 2005). He served as general editor of The Quest Study Bible, for over 10 years a best selling edition of the New International Version.

After growing up in Denver, Colorado, Marshall's journalism degree was earned from Bethel College in Minnesota, his M.Div. and D.D. are from Denver Seminary, and he has taken courses at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Wheaton College Graduate School, and Stanford University.

Before joining CTI in 1982, Marshall worked as a curriculum and book editor, a newspaper copy editor, and as an assistant pastor at churches in Denver, Colorado.

Marshall and his wife Susan Shelley have five children and live in Wheaton, Illinois. The Shelleys are active at Parkview Community Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where Susan is on staff as children's pastor, and Marshall serves as elder and teaches an adult Bible class. Together they host a small group of twentysomethings. Avocationally, Marshall can be found playing golf, racketball, and fantasy football, and rooting for his beloved Denver Broncos.

In addition to the titles mentioned above, Marshall is author of several other books, including Well-Intentioned Dragons: Dealing with Problem People in the Church (Bethany House); The Consumer Church: Can Evangelicals Win the World Without Losing Their Soul (IVP) (co-authored with his father, church historian Bruce Shelley); Helping Those Who Don't Want Help (Word); and Keeping Your Kids Christian (Servant).
